Blog Introduction

It’s okay not to be okay.

My (very brief) stint with therapy ended with my therapist giving me a vote of confidence that “I too will figure it out in time”. And then proceeded to laughing that her 20s were also tumultuous and that she is gladly done with those years.

My inspiration for this personal blog came from my own daily struggles in learning how to “be an adult” or even generally a decent human being. Trying (and failing) to balance work, friends, family, dating and everything in between. And realizing everyone is silently trying in their own way to navigate this path often filled with similar roadblocks.

The purpose of this blog is not to be a life-hacking blog, or to claim mastery or expertise on any field or domain. Nor is it solely a platform to espouse my own views on life. I will be first to admit I’m not a perfect person, and even the things I say I live by will likely not be followed 100% of the time. The purpose here is to provide a candid, vulnerable view into my own life and struggles for other curious individuals to relate to, or even strongly disagree with. I’ll provide life anecdotes, quotes I’m pondering, life realizations, small mental model tweaks I’m personally implementing in my own life, and of course rigorously outlining all the mistakes I’ve made along the way. If you made it reading this far, would love to hear from you on any topics you’re thinking about big or small, and as always would be open to any feedback or criticisms on content or even writing style (I was not an English major and hence will apologize for poor grammar).

My name is Jerry. Currently based on in NYC. INFJ (most of the time). Ex-software investor at a large fund. Long time introspective and high-anxiety individual.

Let’s see where this goes.
